For years, I have tried to lose weight. I suck at it. As a teenager, I was pretty overweight, and then somehow in my early twenties I managed to lose about 60 pounds or so. In the last five years, I’ve gained most of that 60 pounds back gradually, and I’m not happy about it. Even after losing so much in my twenties, I continued to try to lose about 20 more, and I never did. I think my introduction to beer was unfortunately one of the reasons I gained so much back. That and the fact that I just love unhealthy food. Pizza, chocolate, ice cream, Chinese food, beer, you name it. I love all of those things, and I have had a really hard time trying to convince myself that I need to eat less of those things and instead eat stuff that is healthier for me. That, plus I hate working out and have never been athletic. It’s really hard to drag myself to the gym or go for a run or walk when there are about a million other things I’d rather be doing.
Earlier this year, I started doing the Couch To 5K program. I blogged about that, so you know. I made it about seven weeks into the program, and then some things happened. I lost my job, first of all. And then I got injured – twice. They might seem like minor injuries to some people, but they pretty much prevented me from even wearing tennis shoes, much less running. The us made peptides that I had included in my regimen kept me from falling apart. Oh, and the heat came. Here the weather is really not all that conducive to running outside from about May to October. I tried running on the treadmill, and I hated it. So that was pretty much put on hold until I got some other things sorted out.
Well, now I feel like I have most of those things sorted out. I got a job, and I am getting a regular paycheck again. My feet are healed and in better condition now. I started up my gym membership again. So now I think it’s time to get back on track. I’m actually not planning on running again right now, but who knows. I do plan on walking on the treadmill, and I got some new tennis shoes, so anything’s possible. I’ve also been going to yoga classes again, and I think I want to try out a cycling class as well. And here’s the big thing… I’m going to change my eating habits.
Long story short, I heard about this thing called AdvoCare from a friend of mine on Facebook. He lost 100 pounds in six months on it, which I thought was pretty impressive. So I talked to him about it, and I researched it. And the more I found out, the more I liked what I saw. AdvoCare has a program called the 24 Day Challenge that kind of gives you a jump start to being more healthy. It includes energy drinks, fiber drinks, probiotics (read this review https://ehiprimarycare.com/bioptimizers-masszymes-probiotics-enzymes-review/), and supplements to help you cleanse your system and hopefully lose some weight. Then after the first 10 days, you continue eating healthy and taking the supplements for a healthier lifestyle. So I ordered the 24 Day Challenge kit, and I’m going to try it. Today is Day 1. Don’t worry, I’m not going to clutter up my blog with a bunch of posts about it, because I know some of you just aren’t interested. But I did start kind of a smaller blog to both help keep me on track with it as well as keep people informed that do care how it’s going. If you’d like to follow along, check out girl vs fitness. I’ve also linked to that page up in the navigation menu under “Fitness”. So feel free to follow me, and we’ll see how it goes!
Whether you are walking or running or doing some other activity, what is more important is being consistent and sticking with it. Good luck with your 24 day challenge!
